Summer Fun

On a hot summer day Jake's friend Roisin (who is 6 weeks younger than Jake) came over to play in the pool in the backyard! What a fun day for all!

Cousins

Chloe (4 years) and Jake LOVE hanging out together! They have so much fun together and Jake likes to follow Chloe around and mimic her. Sometimes you don't know who is screeching!! I was so impressed last night when Jake starting pushing Chloe (who is 35lb) on his firetruck - what a strong little man! Here is a video and some pics from the kids last night - 2 of my favorite people in the whole wide world!

Heat Wave

This week has been hot in Calgary - and we are not complaining! With the heat it appear that Jake has found it hard to sleep - at least that's what I'd like to contribute it too. The only consistent thing about Jake is that he's inconsistent - his sleep schedule seems to change weekly - last week he couldn't make it to 6pm before falling asleep and this week he's wide awake till 10pm - keeps me on my toes! I have a video of him from last night wide awake and hyper but can't seem to get it to post - will try again later - here's some pictures for now!

First Fever

Last week Jake had his first fever. It went up to 104 degrees and lasted for about 72hours - pretty scary for us, but he is now on the up and ups (thankfully he started eating again yesterday)! As he had no other symptoms the doctor said it was most likely viral - which in my opinion is the worst as you just have to wait it out (better than H1N1 though). Tomorrow he will head back to daycare.

The first 2 pics is of Jake not feeling well - I feel so awful for him when he's sick - we cuddle lots (I love that my baby is such a cuddler)! In the last 2 pics Jake is starting to feel better and get his funny personality back!

Little chatter box

Jake "talks" like this all day long - not just when he's reading books! We love it. I can't believe when my parents tell me how quiet I was as a child - I'm not quiet now, and neither is Chris or Jake :-)

Jake has many nicknames: Jakeman, Jakey, monkey man, Jakers, Jacob (his real name which my dad is the only one that calls him that). I always call Jake "Jakey" and if you listen closely it sounds like he says Jakey a couple times in the middle of this clip.

And yes, if you were wondering - it is the middle of summer and Jake is wearing a long sleeve shirt - you would think it was fall already with our cool Calgary weather!

Peek a boo!

Jake loves to play peek a boo. He also loves to chase the dog all day long (sigh)! At 13 months he getting into everything - not walking on his own yet, but all along furniture and holding someone's hand. His personality is incredible - so funny, bold, and full of life! His funny faces and laugh brings us such joy.

New beggining in blogging

Blogging is something new for me! I thought that it will be a good way for my family and friends (especially my "non-facebook" friends) to see Jake growing up - mostly videos and pictures.

Hope you enjoy - Chris and I are so blessed to have Jake in our lives and we love him to pieces! I think we say to each other at least once everyday "Jake is sooo cute, isn't he?!!"
