Lightning!! Thunder!!!

As Jake is obsessed with the movie Cars we made it the theme for his second birthday party! Here is the cake and cupcakes I attempted from scratch. Next year I am going to invest in piping bags as it would make the job much easier:-) More birthday party photos to come.


 
 
 
 

Jake's 2nd Birthday

Jake had a wonderful 2nd birthday! He woke up to warm sunshine (which is a nice change from all the snow) and a delivery of car balloons from his nonna and grumpa! We then went to an indoor climbing gym with his cousin Chloe and Aunt Shelly! Boy did they kids ever have a blast! It was so fun. We ran a couple errands, and then met up with Dad as he was able to get away from work early. Went for a nice long walk, had dinner, icecream and played with his new trains from his auntie and uncle. On Sat we will be having an actual birthday party for him - can't wait!! I absolutely love Jake's birthdays!

Some new photos

Well, it's been over a month since I've blogged - lets just say it was a busy month! Jake had a nasty flu bug in late April/early May, and we also made a trip to Ontario in May as I had to be there for a work conference! We are all looking forward to a healthy, low-key summer :-)

Jake is otherwise doing really well - a bundle of laughs! He's happy, full of life, and his language is growing daily. He loves getting outside and taking Roxy for a walk. I can't believe he is 2 this week!!

 
 
 
 

 
 
 

Nikolai comes for a visit

Jake's good buddy, Nikolai, came for a visit last weekend from Manitoba! The boys had lots of fun playing together (aka making a big mess), having baths, and watching Thomas the Train! Nikolai taught Jake some new tricks including how to drink water from the bath tap - that created lots of laughs! Boy, do we ever miss Nikolai and his parents, but we are thankful we got to have a visit. Hopefully we will be able to have another one sooner than later!

 
 
 
 

California

Nonna and Grumpa took myself, my sister, Jake and Chloe to California! What an amazing vacation - we stayed in Temecula, San Diego and Anaheim! We hit up the San Deigo zoo, lots of pools and spray parks and Disneyland. Jake was really well behaved and slept through the night the whole trip.

Jake loved hanging out with his family, the warm weather, swimming, and the zoo. The highlight of the trip was at Disney - seeing a real size Lightning McQueen and Mator from the movie cars (his obsession)! Grumpa must have gone to all the stores to make sure he now has all the car characters. Lightening and Mator were also in the Disney Parade and he was sooo excited! He also enjoyed going up to the Disney characters, talking to them (who knows what he was saying) and giving them a hug. Thanks mom and dad for an incredible trip!
